Matouš Veselský completed his bachelor's (2016), master's (2018), and doctoral (2022) studies at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University. He is currently employed at several university institutions, including Charles University and CEA CAPA. Matouš focuses on the sociology of sport, with a particular interest in sports mega-events, and he regularly teaches in English. His doctoral dissertation examined the Ice Hockey World Championships held in the Czech Republic in 2004 and 2015. His research, including his dissertation, is centered on qualitative methods and their application not only in the sociology of sport. He is also heavily involved in teaching, public speaking, event organization and moderation, science popularization, and multimedia content creation. In 2020, he won the Science Slam competition at Charles University, which is dedicated to science popularization. Between 2018 and 2021, he produced the video blog FHSáci for the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University. Since 2024, he has been publishing his own podcast, Game. Set. Match. Rethinking Sport, which explores sport from a social science perspective. He has also been a long-time host of various events and collaborates with event agencies.
